Technology

The intelligence layer between your infrastructure and the sky above it.

PassIntel combines independent aircraft surveillance with forward-looking satellite prediction to give operators advance notice, verified patrol coverage, and a compliance record that holds up under scrutiny. Here's how it works.

How SatIntel Works

From orbital mechanics to actionable dispatch windows.

24 satellites tracked · satellite tracking data refreshed every 6 hours

Orbital Propagation

PassIntel uses Simplified General Perturbations 4 (SGP4), a published orbital mechanics algorithm used by NASA and the defense community, to calculate satellite positions. Standardized satellite tracking data (Two-Line Element sets) is refreshed every 6 hours from authoritative sources. Position accuracy degrades approximately 1-3 km per day, which is why frequent updates and a capped prediction window are essential.

Prediction Window

7-day forward-looking window. We predict what we can stand behind. Longer-range predictions exist, but they degrade to noise for the narrow-swath methane satellites that matter for enforcement.

MODERATEplan dispatch windowHIGH CONFIDENCEdispatch your response7d6d5d4d3d2d1d0dPASS+/-30s pass time
Moderate Confidence

3-7 days

Wide-swath satellites remain highly reliable. Narrow-swath: the satellite is approaching your area, with precision tightening. Plan your dispatch window.

High Confidence

0-3 days

Pass time accurate to +/-30 seconds. Corridor position reliable even for narrow-swath instruments. Dispatch your response.

Facility Intersection

Predictions are specific to your assets, not regional. Facility geometry is cross-referenced against each satellite's verified swath width. Only passes that intersect your specific infrastructure surface as alerts.

Weather-Adjusted Imaging Probability

Clear-sky passes matter more than cloudy ones. Multi-point weather sampling across the facility footprint uses best-case conditions. Imaging probability score factors into the effective threat rating.

How We Score Each Pass

Not every satellite pass is a threat. Each pass is scored across three axes so you focus on what matters.

Imaging Capability

24 satellites classified by methane detection capability. Narrow-swath instruments matter most.

Regulatory Weight

EPA-certified notifiers, state enforcement contracts. Each satellite carries different enforcement weight.

Weather Quality

Cloud cover determines whether a pass produces usable imagery. Multi-point sampling across the facility footprint.

How PassIntel Core Works

Independent surveillance. Not a flight tracker.

Independent ADS-B Data

Powered by Spire Global's independent ADS-B network - 65+ dedicated satellites combined with 40,000+ ground-based receivers for global coverage, including remote corridors where ground-only networks have gaps. The same independent surveillance infrastructure contracted by the European Space Agency and DLR for civilian aviation monitoring.

Full-track geometry capture: complete flight paths reconstructed from position reports, not just waypoints. Altitude profiles, timestamps, and route geometry for every aircraft.

Classification

Every aircraft is identified and classified through a multi-layer taxonomy, cross-referenced against 28 known operator fleets. The system distinguishes regulatory, contracted, survey, and unknown activity - giving your team immediate context on what each aircraft is doing in your airspace.

Severity Scoring

Every detection is scored by severity based on operator type, altitude profile, repeat patterns, and corridor behavior. High-severity detections - confirmed regulatory survey aircraft, for example - surface immediately. Routine transit gets filtered to the background. Your team focuses on what matters.

Every aircraft that enters your airspace is classified, scored, and recorded - whether it's your contractor, a regulator, or someone you didn't know was there.

Trust the Data

Every report is tamper-proof.

SHA-256 Verification

Every compliance report is tamper-proof with cryptographic integrity verification. Any modification after generation is detectable.

QR-Coded Reports

Each report includes a QR code linking to an independent verification endpoint. Regulators and auditors can confirm authenticity.

Proof of Action

Reports are timestamped and verified by independent ADS-B surveillance data - not self-reported logs. Your compliance record proves you acted, confirmed by a third-party data source.
